IMHO, this is a pretty wrong approach. A direct connection to VPN requires you trust your data (your IP address at least) to the VPN server admin. I would say it's better to connect to a VPN server via tor, and then it doesn't matter how trustworthy the VPN server is. Of course, it must not be a paid VPN server.
