nice upload,, epik was a huge one back in 2021..

this breach was messy on so many levels,, not just customers but random people pulled in via whois scraping,, that’s what made it extra bad.. 15m+ emails plus physical addresses and phone numbers is crazy exposure..

also worth noting the mixed password formats,, plain, hashed, partial,, perfect example of inconsistent security practices.. good dataset for research and awareness,, and yeah,, thanks for sharing and archiving it here..

people should really treat domain privacy and hosting providers way more seriously after leaks like this,, lesson learned the hard way..

In September 2021, the domain registrar and web host Epik suffered a significant data breach, allegedly in retaliation for hosting alt-right websites. The breach exposed a huge volume of data not just of Epik customers, but also scraped WHOIS records belonging to individuals and organisations who were not Epik customers. The data included over 15 million unique email addresses (including anonymised versions for domain privacy), names, phone numbers, physical addresses, purchases and passwords stored in various formats.
